Visit the farmThe Master Unit vision
A Master Unit is a rural community designed to bring ecological living, local self-reliance and all-round service into everyday life.

A model to learn from
A Master Unit is a self-sufficient zone, based on all-round service, that inspires and offers a more balanced, healthy and proactive lifestyle. Using an economical sustainable model (PROUT), it acts as a nerve center for the local community, and demonstrates new technologies for environmental sustainability while providing guidelines in order to facilitate its replication.
At Ánanda Suruci, this work includes organic food production, biological wastewater treatment, retreats and small-scale food processing. The Yoga Wellness Center was completed in 2015. Renewable energy remains part of our future vision.

Read about PROUTNeohumanism
Neohumanism extends care beyond humanity to animals, plants and the wider living world. All beings have value in their own right, beyond their usefulness to people.
This outlook gives the Master Unit its direction: a replicable model for education, research and service, grounded in harmony with nature.
